I was shocked to learn Tracy had passed after just speaking with her a few weeks earlier in Starbucks. Such admiration for her strength, drive, desire to live. So much emotion for her boys. When I see them I will remember the picture you have just posted of Tracy and her gorgeous smile.

Dear Joan and family I was away when Tracy passed but my thoughts were with you all. When I visited her in Sunnybrooke soon after we spoke I was shocked to see how her condition had deteriorated. I am glad I had a lasst visit with her and know that she is in God’s loving arms. May He give all of you strength to get through this very sad time in your lives. Love Martha

    To the entire Dort Family,
I write this message to all of you with a very heavy heart. Tracy came into my life some 33 years ago, when you moved to Ottawa from Owen Sound. It was on her first day of grade four at Leslie Park School that she would ask me if I would be her friend. Happily, I said yes and we were fast friends for many years. I consider myself very fortunate to have known her and will cherish happy memories of Tracy. My love to all of you. Sleep well Tracy. You’ll be missed by all…

Please convey our condolences to the boys and Tracy’s family. I know Tracy is at peace and she will be sorely missed. I met Tracy when our sons Malcolm and Lukas went to school together and became close buddies. I saw what a great mom Tracy was to those kids and I know she wanted the best for them. Be at peace Tracy.

  • Sherry Rioux

I met Tracy and her children on a few occasions in Collingwood when I helped her find rental accommodations and the one thing I won’t forget is how she doted on her children. I recall one of the boys having an accident an being in a cast, but Tracy wanted him to be part of the decision making process and she carried him around to see the place. My thoughts are with the family at this difficult time.

I am very saddened to hear of Tracy’s death. Although I only knew her a few years before her accident, my memories of her are mostly about her energy and love for sports and family. I helped her with decisions about real estate in Collingwood. Whenever I met her she was usually coming from a run, hike, cycle, swim, etc. always in sports gear of some sort and on her cell she was always catching her breath. Her injury would be devastating for any person but her story has really moved me and her memory will stay with me forever. To all her family my deepest sympathies. (Joan it was a pleasure to meet you and spend time together)
    Sincerely Aggie Davidson
